We are ready!

Vil bought a few things at the ACTION store in town. He had an idea about how to expand our living space with little effort. He bought a camouflage plastic plane and fixed it with flexible straps. He used the doggie trailer and the tent as a support structure and now we can chill and relax in the shadow.

Allrite, we are ready to go and we have no idea where we end up, but for the moment we have a good time. Vil is able to sleep very well and his health is improving. Ok, we don’t want to celebrate too soon, but for the moment we are gold.

The weather is perfect, the tea is hot and we will have a nice walk later. The camping place is located directly at the harbour.

Fate is NOT on our side! – Moving time (AGAIN)!

Sometimes I ask myself: “WHY? Why is life so unfair, so cruel? This morning we woke up and there was bad news for us (AGAIN!). We stayed a few days with a friend and we planned to stay a bit longer, but unfortunately, she reacts allergically to me, her breathing is impacted and we need to leave as fast as possible. We are so sorry about this because we really liked to stay, it was a wonderful distraction and we had the chance to get some rest.

I know that we agreed to write more positive stuff, but it’s hard to find something positive today. We had a few days to recover and we are very grateful for this, but fate hit again. It’s not fair to our friend, not fair to Vil, not fair to everyone. We have no idea what to do, no idea where to sleep tomorrow, no fucking idea how to continue.

….. Thinking!

After the first “shock” we checked online for a camping place and there is one near to us. They accept me, have internet, a shower and everything we need to survive. We will go there tomorrow for three days.

On Monday we will repair the Dog-Trailer which was donated to us and check our luggage. On Wednesday Vil will have his last conversation with his employer how to terminate the working contract.

On Thursday we might be already on the road for our 2.972 km long walk.

Day three – Zandijk

The third night in the Smart, it was raining like hell, but the Smart is warm, dry and surprisingly comfortable. 😉

In Holland it’s not very hard to find a place to park and sleep. Everywhere we try to keep a low key and we are quite successful with it.

Afert we woke up we went to meet a friend and we bought some flowers.

The ladies in the shop had problems with their PIN terminal. Vil fixed the issue and got the flowers for a discount. That’s a nice start in the day.; )

Later we met our friend, had a hot shower, nice food and a real bed.

Night Two : Sleeping in Spaarnwoude (NL)

We spend the second night in the car. It’s not very comfortable, but it’s warm and dry. Unfortunately no toilet or water for Vil around, but we know this situation already from our previous trips. I fortunately can have a piss and shit everywhere, but for Vil it’s not allowed to go the bathroom in nature, so we need to check for the nearest open fast food restaurant. There is for sure a clean toilet, water and maybe a breakfast, but for sure coffee. 🙂 5 km away there is a McDonalds. Let’s go!

Indy’s BLOG – Coffee Shop Review : “The Stud”

The Stud“, a nice coffee shop, not too fancy, but one of the best menus in Amsterdam. Especially the “Menue Boxes” with five different 0.5 g portions of delicious smoke are worth the money.

House Viewing!…. Vil’s Odyssey!

For 500 Euros you get around 10 square meters space. Ok, there was a balcony, but also loud music from the neighbors. Also an ages old, stained, stinky  mattress (buah!), no desk or wardrobe, but dirt everywhere. A dirty kitchen with no space in the fridge and the cherry on the top, a drunk landlady, too wasted to get up or answer the phone. Seriously. 1830 and there where three empty bottles on the table and a fourth open one. Happy days…..

Ok, price wise 500 Euro is a steal for Amsterdam, but we decided not to go for the cheapest, most crappy option, because we had that already in Barcelona and it suxx.

This is what we found in the internet and might get for a reasonable price in Jan Pieter Heijestraat.

The owner, Geert, is a really cool dude, he is genuine and travelling the world. In the moment he is somewhere in Peru, we had a short chat via Skype and he is a really open and friendly person.

Surely, Vil checked him on Facebook and LinkedIN, he is most likely legit and no Western Union scam.

Hey Geert, you checked Vil and we checked you. There is plenty of scam in this word and there is nothing wrong to be cautious. 🙂 You will be happy to have us as tenants. Thank you for considering <-UpdateSpoiler! 🙂 trusting us.

Tomorrow we will know if Geert likes us as tenants ……!

Indy’s BLOG – On the road….

There are still very nice people out there and we are happy to meet them. While living in Badalona we met Jack, Teresa and Miguel. Jack is Indy’s best friend and they are very nice people which didn’t hesitate to offer us a place to sleep when they heard that we are in trouble. We can sleep on the floor of their Yoga studio. This is no long term arrangement, only for a few days, but most important we are safe for the moment.

This week Vil needs to go to Amsterdam for an interview as Senior Digital Sales Consultant, another application is still open and after all that there is another interview for a homeworking position for a big american company.

All in all it looks quite promising, but we already know that we can’t rely on a feeling, so we expect the worst and hope for the best.

Indy’s BLOG- Is this our new place? – Badalona

We moved to Badalona, because there was no other way. The ‘old’ landlord went totally mental and the situation was unbearable. Unfortunately we can stay only for a few days because this in no permanent option for us. We found out that the house is somehow squatted and there is a high possibility that energy or water will be disconnected soon.
