It’s exhausting, tonight Vil was not very good, he woke up with a terrible headache and totally sweat wet. Maybe it’s a result of the nightmares, the bad dreams and the shitty situation. When he woke up he was not even able to move properly, his whole body aches and he is was really sick. Normally he would have stayed in bed a bit longer, but we need to move. After he was able to walk straight, we went to see our good friend Lei in town to have some coffee, food and a chat. She told us that she will go on holidays and she offered us to ‘babysit’ her house for a few days when she’s in the states. JACKPOT!, but still no solution.

Today we moved our stuff to Zaandijk, moved boxes (again) and we had a nice day until the landlady told us that she doesn’t feel good with us and we need to leave until the end of the month. WTF? That’s a new record. 🙂 We’ve got thrown out before we even finished moving in. We don’t understand why, but we need to accept. Arrghhhh.

That’s the second time we got screwed like this. Nothing personal, but why people doesn’t consider the consequences of their actions? Maybe first they see just the money and then they realize that nothing is free?! No idea, but unfortunate we need to life with the consequences.

Hey Guys, sorry to inform you, but the room for rent has been sold for 900 Euro per month!! Look how popular this room is! 🙂 It is also because of the location if you have the advertisement very well. It is off course because of the perfect location, on a five minutes walk to the Vondelpark and on a 15 minute’s to the Leidse Square/ City Center!!!! It is also AIRB and B alike. BUT the room will be coming available again in May. May be against the same price, but there I am not sure about. It will also be available via AirBandB. But I have not published the room over there on this moment. Many thanks for your responses!!! Regards, Ronald

Indy’s BLOG – Thinking about tomorrow!

It’s a very long story how we ended up in Badalona, but one year ago we relocated from Spain to Amsterdam, because Vil got a very nice job offer to be an internal cloud sales consultant for one of the biggest companies in the world. It was a very good job offer, but in the end, it didn’t work out.

We really struggled, we had no food, no job, no place to stay and Vil was seriously sick. But he didn’t give up, he fought and since then Vil was able to survive, his health is way better now and he even managed to score a job in one of the best companies in the world. He really likes his job, his manager likes him as well and after being very sick, he really wants to go back to work, but HOW?

Without a place for us, there is no way and if we don’t find a place he surely will lose his job soon. It’s a shitty situation. Since now we managed somehow to find places to sleep, live on very little money after we paid all bills, but now we run out of ideas. We are members of every website imaginable, we post on Facebook and on the intranet, but nothing, absolutely nothing. It’s frustrating.

All of this because of me! Vil could have way less ‘issues’, but he doesn’t want to give me up! Vil will never leave me alone. NEVER! As a result, on Monday, all our dreams will come to a shattering halt, we need to leave the place we stay right now and there is no place we can go.

All because we are not able to find an affordable and permanent place for us. STUPID! We tried literally everything, but somehow it’s not meant to be.

What will be? We have no idea and we might need to go back on the road, but we are not afraid about that, because we can stay together and that’s most important for us.

Indy’s BLOG – Looking for a place to stay ASAP!

tl;dr – We need a place as soon as possible and if not, we will end up on the streets! Seriously!

Living with a dog is not easy, but the best thing ever!

You surely know it’s nearly impossible to find affordable living space in the Amsterdam Area and if you are (with) a dog it’s even harder.

We are urgently looking for a new place to stay somewhere in the Amsterdam commuting area and we are virtually ok with everything because otherwise, we will literally end up on the streets.

Who are we?

We are Indy and Vil. Indy is 7 years old and she barks French and English, she is a really relaxed Labrador and Border Collie Mix. This is her blog.

I am her “tin opener’s” and my name is Vil, I am German, speak English, French and very little Dutch. I work on the phone in Amsterdam Sloterdeijk.

We are both clean, well educated and bark very rarely. 🙂

What?

Our dream would be a really nice flatshare with some friendly and happy mates because we like to share. We are ok with a room, a flat, a studio, a garage, a transporter van, an RV … or even a tent in your garden, you can be creative, it’s quite urgent.

We are ok with everything! We are ok with every duration, but we would prefer long-term with registration possible, but this is not mandatory

Seriously, when you are with a dog, it’s not easy to find a place, because most adverts on Facebook or Kamernet.NL, Facebook or Clawq refuse dogs. Facing this obstacle we are literally ok with everything, the place just needs to be affordable, dry and warm.

Really nice would be somewhere in the Amsterdam commuting area because Vil works in Sloterdeijk. He is ok to travel to work by train, Holland isn’t so big. 🙂

When?

ASAP! We could literally move in today. Right now we are on standby and Monday we will run out of ideas. Vil needs to go to work. You could say it’s a little seriously urgent because we are somehow on the streets. We don’t carry much stuff with us. Just a few bags, the doggie food and that’s it. 🙂

We need a place as soon as possible and if not, we will end up on the streets! Seriously!

Indy’s BLOG – Moving Day! (AGAIN)

Vil just went to Bo-Rent to hire a little van for moving to Apeldoorn. The van was just 58.- Euro for 24 hours inclusive everything and way less than the 80 Euro last time Alfred exploited from us, but thanks god we don’t have to see this guy again anytime soon.

A colleague offered us to stay with him for a few weeks until we find something ‘better’. 🙂 and now everything is already packed and we are ready to go. Well, who thought that we will be again on the move so soon?

Indy’s BLOG – Don’t be such a TOURIST!

Amsterdam, the capital of The Netherlands, is a beautiful town, famous for the Grachten, the Dutch food, the picturesque houses and surely the coffee shops. Amsterdam welcomes thousands of visitors from all over the world to spend their money and have a wonderful time.

Virtually everyone is very welcome to see the Reichsmuseum, the Leidseplein, the Dam Square, the Anne Frank House, the Vondelpark, many more attractions and have party, BUT there is “The Rally Annoying Tourist” who is not really liked.

Here are a few tips not to be “The Tourist” and if you follow them, you will enjoy a hazzle free stay!

Dont’s!

  • Don’t walk in groups and block the way. Please enjoy your viewing of wonderful Amsterdam and have a relaxed walk around, but don’t walk like a crowd of sheep and block the pathway, there are people living in this town which need to be somewhere some time. 🙂
  • Don’t walk on the bicycle lane, it’s dangerous! Dutch cyclists and scooter driver are most of the time quite fast on their way and it is really dangerous to walk on the bicycle lane. The bicycle lane should never be used for casual walking.
  • Be aware: “Smoking is not welcome everywhere!” Yes, Amsterdam is the town of weed and hashish and you can buy the stuff everywhere, BUT you are NOT welcome to smoke everywhere. You should only smoke at places where it is allowed and accepted and common sense dictates that you DON’T smoke at tram stations, other crowded places or wherever children are around.
  • It’s really cool to explore Amsterdam by bike, but don’t cycle like a JERK! You are welcome to cycle all over Amsterdam, but keep in mind that you don’t own the street, that you should respect pedestrians and always be alert to stop. It’s absolutely not ok to cycle in groups and clocking the streets or even falling totally stoned or drunk from a bicycle.
  • Don’t litter. Have your fast food and your drinks, but don’t throw your waste on the floor.
  • Allrite, talking about common sense. Just behave well and don’t be a jerk!

General Tips

  • Enter the tram at the correct entry. Don’t waste other peoples time by being an ignorant arse.
  • Be aware, there are pickpockets everywhere and they really like stoned and distracted people to steal your stuff. Always carry your important stuff like ID and money on your body.
  • Don’t buy drugs on the road! Amsterdam is quite tolerant for drugs, when you follow the legal path, but when you want something stronger and buy something on the road, you play with your life!, because there is a “pissing contest” going on between producers who can produce the strongest tablets and this is no good. This contest leads to the fact the pill you get today has more than five times the strength than pills a few years ago.
    If you really want to use other drugs than the legal ones available in the coffee shops, please let your drugs being tested before you enjoy them. You can test your drugs here -> DRUGTESTSERVICE! without any fear of legal problems.
  • Be aware that Amsterdam is a town living from tourists and unfortunately this brings also some shady people to Amsterdam which you better avoid. Be very careful when someone whats to be your friend too fast!

If you follow these easy steps, there’s nothing which can go wrong on your stay.

Indy’s BLOG – The 300th Post – Time to celebrate!

Since my first post “Indy’s BLOG! – Vil, Victor and Indy on the road. A real story!” BY INDYTHEDOG ON FEBRUARY 22, 2016 we had an interesting journey, visited many countries. slept on the road and the beach, so many things happened and today I will publish the 300th post. I never thought that our journey will be so long and also I never expected to write so many posts, but with us, live always goes a different way than expected.

Feedback

I am really happy about the feedback I received. Ay first I thought they are just polite, but now I start to believe that I can write. 🙂 Most of the readers really like the blog and they think our story is interesting. Ok, every dog thinks her life is the most exciting life in the world, but after receiving so much positive feedback it made me think, that there might be something to our story which makes the people curious and read.

Statistics

You can believe me it was quite a bit of work to type all this with my paws. A mobile phone or a computer touchpad is not really made for dog usage. What started as a short note diary of our journey became a project we think might worth pursuing for our future.

Estimating an average of 500 words to fit on one A4 page, we already wrote around 46k words / 500 = 82 DIN A4 pages and we are just starting to write content. 🙂 Not to forget all the unwritten stories and all the images. Plenty of stuff to add.

300 POSTS

300 posts telling the story of the unconditional belief in a better future, even if the odds are bad. A story of not giving up and trying hard to survive.  This is the 300th post and I am a bit proud of what we experienced the last two years. We started from literally zero and after many ups and downs, we are now on a good way to build a foundation for a future life.

We want to use 2018 to rewrite and complete our BLOG. We want to write our story as encouragement for others not to give up, to tell that there is always a second chance, even if the world has only pain and dark colours for you in the moment. Maybe we can publish our story, we will see.

The journey is over!

For now, we call the Story of “Vil, Victor and Indy on the Road” as officially ended, BUT we will continue to write and report from our ‘new and boring’ life. Sure there will be the occasional roller coaster and that’s no biggie, because “Who wants to have a ‘boring’ life?”

Publish?

We are thinking about “really” publishing our story and not only having a blog. Maybe I write a “road novel based on a true story” 🙂 or an audio book? I can imagine merchandise like “Indy’s preferred dog food” or a coffee mug with my picture. Who knows?!

I will try to find a publisher or someone to help me finishing, but whatever happens, I will continue to write and maybe some day we have success and if not, well, we tried. Positive thinking.
